Penguin muster, Lightning Ridge 🐧🐧 2019

Tonight will probably be our last night away. At this point we are heading for Chinchilla Weir. There's a short walk beside the Moonie river, beside the pub. Either side of the weir ⬆⬇ not a lot of water. A few stops on the way to the weir, Westmar for morning tea, Meanderra for fuel and Condamine for lunch.  The Condamine bell. A sad looking Condamine River. We have a lovely spot again. Not far from the water, bbqs and loos. Sunset Beautiful night to watch an outdoor movie Our last campfire for the trip. Today we traveled  323kms making it a total of 1722kms towing.

Today we leave the ridge and are heading to a freedom camp at the Nindigully Pub. We couldn't leave without a final hot dip. Morning tea stop was in Hebel, on the right side of the border 😆  The river didn't look very appealing  Lunch was at Thallon by the silos  Camped up by the Moonie river at the Nindigully Pub.  The pelicans weren't bothered by all the weeds in the water.  Art works at the pub. Friendly old fella I found on the toilet  The boys made a ripper of a fire  So we had ice creams  And toasted marshmallows Lots of campers here but still plenty of room. Today we traveled 233kms and the weather was absolutely perfect. Total of 1399kms hitched.

We have decided to stay another night at lightning ridge. After a late night I slept in and missed the sunrise.  We had an easy, relaxing morning. Checked out an intriguing roof top camper and another penguin. A few cactus plants ⬇ A local art gallery ⬇ We did some more noodling at the caravan park. Found a few more pieces of potchy treasure. I have enjoyed playing in the dirt which I generally don't like to get dirty. Watched the bush poets again. The remaing penguin owners joined us for dinner. We had a hot dip in the thermal pool before sitting around the campfire. We had a great chat with a group of young men who were on a boys trip to the Birdsville races. Another late but enjoyable night.

Another early morning walk After visiting the markets we went to a walk in mine.  Wearing our very stylish hard hats  Different colours in the rocks  Escape hatch Attended the Mel & Susie show again.  We had dinner with a few 🐧 friends at an Italian restaurant then joined the others in the pavilion for some singing, dancing and chatting.
